Description
The Zakum Development Company is planning the erection of several drilling islands in the Persian Gulf. Different buildings are planned on the central island which have to be blast resilient for safety purposes. Six Construct was favoring precast concrete construction instead of the proposed steel construction to safe cost, time and effort by the erection of the buildings. KramerAlbrecht investigated this proposal in a feasibility study with the focus on the suitability of the precast concrete with regards to the HVAC, since after a blast, the construction has to maintain an overpressure in the building for 30minutes.
